Assessments

ABLL'S-R

The ABLLS-R is conducted via observation of the child's behavior in each skill area. Instructor will provide a stimulus to the child (verbal, hand-over-hand, non-verbal, etc.), and, depending on what the child does (the behavior), determines their skill-level.

DAYC-2

The DAYC-2 format allows for obtaining information about a child's abilities through observation, interview of caregivers, and direct assessment.

HELP Strands

HELP® 0-3 is one of the most popular and widely used curriculum-based assessments used in early intervention programs for infants and toddlers and their families. The HELP's 0-3 curriculum based assessment process uses a family-centered, relationship-based approach.

Early Intervention Program

EIP

The New York State Early Intervention Program (EIP) is a public program funded by New York State and county governments for infants and toddlers with special needs. Children with diagnosed conditions that lead to developmental delays (such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, etc.) are eligible for the EIP. Children with no diagnosis who have delays in development may be eligible for the EIP.  If you are a parent and have concerns regarding your child development, you may refer your child to the local Early Intervention Program (EIP) where your child resides. All children must be referred to the municipality to access Early Intervention Program Services If you live in New York City call 311, in Nassau County call 516-227-8661, in Suffolk County call 631-853-3100 and in Westchester County call 914-813-5094). Someone else can help you make the referral to the Early Intervention Program if you wish. Eligibility for the Early Intervention Program can be determined only by State-approved evaluators under contract with the municipality.
